The Dark Knight

I finally watched The Dark Knight. It was a blast. Exhilarating from start to end. It is the best superhero film I've ever seen. Performances were top-notched, the action was over-the-top and the ending was perfect. Everything fell into place with this one.
I watched this movie 2 weeks late because I didn't want to watch a movie in a congested cinema. So I've heard everything about it form my friends and trusty geeks. It was so mind blowing that one friend of mine, BJ, who usually never runs out of words, was speechless and unable to write a review about the movie. He described it in 2 words: MIND BLOWING. I also described it in 2 words: Visual Orgasm.
I've been hearing a lot about Heath Ledger's performance as Joker and I thought I got to see this for myself; and turns out, I was right. People were right. He turned in the most brilliant performance of his relatively short career. Watching him was a privilege.
The other actors turned in good performances as well.
Damn! I really must buy the DVD of this movie!!!
5/5 Stars for The Dark Knight. If you haven't watched it yet, stop reading this blog right now and go buy tickets or a dvd of the movie (depending on which applies)

Today was a Good Day=)

Yeah talk about having a good day. I got my first job this morning. I'm starting on Monday. I am a bit nervous but I still feel good. I think Oishi will be a good training ground for me. It will give me a lot of experience in terms of handling events and such. I got assigned to my dream job - marketing and events. I like it because it gives me flexibility and it allows me to meet a lot of people. I'm still crossing my fingers. I am scared because this will be the beginning of a better tomorrow for me. Of course there is always that Hong Kong dream that has been so elusive but hey, I can still postpone it till I get another chance.
I also got my new USA jersey from my cousin at a discounted price. It looks good especially after I wear it. LOL
I also had a good work out today at the gym. I was in ecstasy. I felt like I could bench the world. And bench the world I did.
I wish everyday will be like this. Full of happenings, full of joy, full of (gasp!) hope. To tell you the truth everything is so goddamn perfect right now it scares me shitless. You see, my outlook has been if everything is going right, prepare for the worst. Something's bound to go wrong. But today I am at peace. It's like what Jim Carey said in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind: "I could die right now. I'm just... happy. I've never felt that before. I'm just exactly where I want to be." Of course I'm still not where I want to be but as of now, this would suffice.

Tony Leung and Carina Lau ties the Knot

Rumors have been circulating all over the world wide web about Chinese entertainment's biggest wedding of the decade. After 19 years of on-off relationship, Tony Leung, the magnificent star of countless Chinese films of legendary proportions such as Infernal Affairs; Lust, Caution, Hero among others and Carina Lau decides to tie the knot.
Word is out that they will hold their wedding in Bhutan where Buddhism is sacred because of the limited paparazzi capabilities in the place. The bride wants to have a very intimate ceremony with 80 of their closest friends.
You can read the full article here, here and here.

Here's the piece from Asianbite.com

A lavish wedding is scheduled Monday at the luxurious Uma Paro hotel. Because Lau said she wanted a peaceful wedding, the hotel is being heavily guarded to keep the paparazzi at bay.

Leung's management company said that on Friday, hotel security removed at least eight journalists who had entered the premises of the Uma Paro, the International Herald Tribune reported.

Meanwhile, most of the 80 or so guests have arrived in Bhutan. Celebrity guests include filmmaker Stanley Kwan, actress Brigitte Lin, and former pop diva Faye Wong and her actor husband, Li Yapeng. Award-winning film director Wong Kar-Wai is in charge of planning the wedding.

Tony Leung, 46, and Carina Lau, 42, have been together for 19 years.

Carina Lau

If it is true women get better with age, then this is a prime example. Carina Lau has been my crush since I saw her around 5 years ago in Infernal Affairs III. She was the embodiment of class, elegance and timelessness. She has that sophisticated feel to her. I must admit I've never seen a woman quite like her.
She shot to fame in the 80s playing girl next door roles and eventually got caught in an ugly kidnapping and scandal. But through it all she maintained grace under pressure.
She is now 43 if I'm not mistaken but still beautiful as ever. She is marrying long time partner Tony Leung Chiu-Wei this year and all I could say is it's about time. Lucky bastard LOL Normally I'm not a fan of MILFs but there's something alluring about her. She is probably the most beautiful 40-something I know. Demi Mooore included!
